Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
Saying goodbye for the final time in his unrivaled 20-season career to the hometown fans at Madison Square Garden on April 18, 1999, Wayne Gretzky would conclude the greatest career in hockey history holding 61 NHL records, with his famous “99” the only number retired throughout the league. This signed and framed oversized photograph by noted lensman Doug Ball has been signed by the iconic superstar. At approx 9” x 30” and wonderfully depicting The Great One waving to the fans with his iconic #99 on full display, the photo has been signed by Wayne in dark blue marker, with a personalization added along with the date of "4/18/99". The photographer has also signed within the bottom right, with the date again handwritten. Matted with "99" at the base and framed to approx 27" x 37”, the signatures display well, with no issues visible for the photograph. Please note that due to the size and/or weight, special shipping arrangements may be required.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for any damage to frames that occurs during shipping.
