Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
First played in 1909 and named for Albert Grey, 4th Earl Grey, and the Governor General of Canada, the Grey Cup championship is one of North America's oldest and greatest sporting spectacles. Produced by Canada Post in 2012, we offer a 100th anniversary boxed set (there were no Grey Cup games from 1916 to 1919 due to the First World War as well as a rules dispute, so the 2012 Grey Cup game is considered the 100th). Included, there is a mini replica cup, 7 1/2" in height with a plaque with "4145/8000" over the base, a booklet detailing the Grey Cup's history, a 1oz silver wafer, $1 Canadian coin, team logo souvenir sheet, stamp pane and team pins set. Each item remains in like-new condition including the 12" x 10" x 5" wooden display box, with "Presented by His Excellency Earl Grey - Amateur Rugby Football Championship of Canada" engraved into the box top.
