Drafted in the first round of the 2005 MLB Draft by the Boston Red Sox, Jacoby Ellsbury would go on to a Major League career that spanned a total of eleven (11) years split between Beantown and the bright lights of New York with the Yankees. A two-time World Series champion with the Red Sox, offered here is this Red Sox jersey worn by Ellsbury on Opening Day 2011 against the Texas Rangers, the first game of his all-star, Gold Glove Award and Silver Slugger Award winning season. Made by Majestic, a brand/MLB Authentic Collection jock tag is heat-pressed over the front tail and displays a Steiner hologram numbered “175753” while a fabric team tag displaying “2 44 ‘11” is sewn into it underneath. Having had a washing instructions tag added inside the left hip, the front of the jersey is decorated with “Boston” spelt out in single layer navy twill letters while Ellsbury’s number “2” and surname has been added over the reverse in matching style. Accented with an MLB logo over the reverse neckline and a Red Sox team logo patch over the left sleeve, the jersey displays just light signs of wear throughout via some light rubbing and fabric pulls. Having had an MLB hologram added to the reverse number, the jersey is photo-matched with Getty Image #120916702 (April 1st, 2011 vs Texas) to the extra bit of stitching at the left bottom side in the top portion of the “B” in Ellsbury and with Getty Image #111403457 (April 1st, 2011 vs Texas) to the placement of the “T” in “Boston” over the front. A matching Steiner LOA will accompany the piece.
