Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
A veteran of 881 games in the National Hockey League despite never being drafted, Brian Skrudland would suit up for the likes of the Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, Florida Panthers, New York Rangers and Dallas Stars during the course of his career, winning Lord Stanley's mug with Montreal in 1986 and Dallas in 1999 while also being named an all-star in 1991. Serving as a member of the Montreal Canadiens alumni in the NHLPA, offered here is this pair of NHLPA jackets received by Skrudland from the association during his career. Both size "XL", the first jacket, a black all leather construction offering made by Roots that features brand tagging inside the collar, a patch displaying an embroidered silver coloured NHLPA logo as well as "Brian Skrudland - Member Since 1985" has been sewn inside the left side of the piece while an embossed NHLPA logo is seen over the left breast on the outside. With all the buttons present and accounted for, the jacket remains in excellent condition and shows just light wear in spots to the leather, mostly over the sleeves and at the cuffs. For the second jacket, a varsity style offering made of wool and leather, a leather patch with an NHLPA logo is sewn inside the inner collar along with a size "XL" fly tag while "Brian Skrudland" has been penned to the patch in black ink. Featuring both zipper and snap buttons, the jacket shows some wear to the suede on the sleeves via scratches and marks while being decorated on the reverse by an embroidered outline of the NHLPA logo with an additional logo over the left breast. Hailing from his personal collection, an LOA signed by Skrudland will accompany the lot.
