Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
One of the most colourful franchises in the history of the National Football League and laying claim to one of the most passionate fanbases that the world of sport has ever seen, the Raiders, having previously set up shop in Oakland and Los Angeles and now Las Vegas, have always played a no holds barred blue-collar style of football that has brough the organization a total of three (3) Super Bowl Championships to go along with an AFL Championship in 1967. Offered here, and sure to satisfy any Raiders die-hard, is this lot consisting of helmets individually signed by Bo Jackson and Jeff Barnes and a photo display signed by Marcus Allen. Starting with the helmets, both are Riddell full-size examples with the Jackson a replica model and the Barnes an authentic pro model that is game-used by an unknown player. Both displaying Raiders decals over both sides as well as a black stripe running front to back over the top, the Jackson example remains in beautiful condition while the Barnes helmet shows many signs of game-use through numerous marks and abrasions. Both appearing to be complete with all their padding on the interior (the Barnes helmet shows a “7 5/8” size designation affixed to the interior), both have signed above the Raiders decals on the right side of each with black marker ink signatures. The Jackson autograph displays without issue while the Barnes shows signs of fading plus wear. With the Jackson helmet having a PSA/DNA sticker numbered “4A89383” affixed to the reverse and accompanied by a matching COA, a JSA Auctions LOA from May 2015 will accompany the Barnes helmet. Additionally, also included with the lot is a framed photo display that has been signed by Marcus Allen. A 16” x 20” full-colour image that Allen has signed near the bottom with a black marker signature, the piece measures out to full dimensions of approx. 30 ¼” x 31 ¼” and features a Raiders logo at the bottom of the piece. Matted under black and grey mattes and housed in a black frame that displays with just very light wear to the edges and corners, a Fanatics hologram has been placed at the bottom left-hand corner of the piece.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for damage to frames that occur during shipping.
