Founded in 1971 as the Vancouver Nats, the Kamloops Chiefs operated in the Western Hockey League from 1973 to 1977 before relocating to become the Seattle Breakers. Featuring an alumni list that includes former NHLers such as Andy Moog, Barry Beck, Barry Melrose, Larry Playfair and Ryan Walter, offered here is this WCHL Kamloops Chiefs jersey that dates from the team's four (4) year existence in the era of the mid-1970s. A heavyweight durene knit garment void of any labeling but a Rawlings made example based on other examples that we have handled in the past and the outline of the label that was once affixed to the inner collar, the jersey measures out to roughly a size "50" for its effort and is void of any sort of fight strap on the interior. A classic tie-neck style jersey that is decorated over the front with a Chiefs team crest that features embroidered details, the sleeves and verso have been styled with the number "7" in dual layer tackle twill style. Displaying excellent game-wear throughout its entirety, including team repairs totaling out to approximately eight (8) throughout the body and sleeves, other battle scars seen throughout include fabric runs, unrepaired holes, board burns, pilling on the interior, coloured board paint transfers, scuffs/scrapes and light stick marks. Overall, a cool relic of a bygone era of junior hockey!
Research shows that Jack Patterson wore the number in 1973-74 and 1974-75, Rob Flockhart wore the number in 1975-76 and that both Randy Carson and Errol Rausse wore it in 1976-77.
