Sure to pique the interest of those looking to acquire some graded vintage for their collections, offered here is this collection of thirteen (13) O-Pee-Chee, Topps, Upper Deck and Score graded hockey cards that date between 1978-79 to 1990-91 that includes mostly rookie offerings. Paced by a copy of HOFer Mike Bossy's rookie card from the 1978-79 Topps set that has earned a designation of MINT 9 from KSA and retains beautiful colours, notable rookie specimens from the decade of the 1980s include those of HOFer Mike Gartner (1980-81 O-Pee-Chee - KSA NM+ 7.5), HOFer Steve Yzerman (1984-85 Topps - KSA NMM+ 8.5), HOFer Joe Sakic (1989-90 O-Pee-Chee - PSA NM-MT 8) and HOFer Brian Leetch (1989-90 O-Pee-Chee x2 - KSA NGM 9.5 and Beckett MINT 9 with Subgrades of Centering 9.5, Corners 9.5, Edges 9.5 and Surface 8). Addtionally, the 80's are closed out with a copy of Wayne Gretzky's 1989-90 O-Pee-Chee Hart Trophy card that has also been graded by KSA, who have deemed it worthy of a NGM 9.5 assessment. For the rest of the lot, all 1990-91 Upper Deck and Score rookie cards, a lone SGC holder houses the 1990-91 Upper Deck rookie of HOFer Pavel Bure which has been assessed a MINT 9 and is joined by another copy slabbed by Beckett that displays a MINT 9 over its label with subgrades of Centering 9.5, Corners 9, Edges 8.5 and Surface 9.5 while HOFer Ed Belfour's 1990-91 Upper Deck rookie in both French and English is featured earning marks of PSA NM-MT 8 and KSA NGM 9.5 respectively. For the final two (2) cards in the collection, HOFer Sergei Fedorov's 1990-91 Upper Deck first-year card has been given a mark of NGM 9.5 by KSA and is joined by the 1990-91 Score rookie of HOFer Martin Brodeur that has been slabbed with a GEM MT 10 mark over its label. With all the holders remaining in excellent condition and showing just light scratches, the collection is sure to be a welcome addition to any starter or advanced rookie card/vintage/HOFer collection.
It must be noted that the grading standards followed by KSA and GMA may not correspond to those currently employed by PSA, BGS or SGC. The outcome of an attempted cross-over of this piece through any of those services, then, would be uncertain and cannot be guaranteed.
