Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2023
One of just three National League teams (the other two are the 1975 Cincinnati Reds and the 2022 Los Angeles Dodgers) to have won twice as many games as lost in the regular season since 1909, the New York Mets went 108-54 in the 1986 MLB season, and are often regarded as one of the best teams of all-time. The Mets would defeat the Boston Red Sox in seven games at the Fall Classic. This framed jersey has been team-signed by the 1986 World Series champion Mets. A Rawlings model with tackle twill team crest, 25 have signed in black marker, including Carter, Strawberry, Hernandez, Gooden, Wilson, Dykstra, Lyons, Hearn, Stottlemyre, Darling, Ojeda, Leach, Heep, Knight and others. The signatures display beautifully, with the jersey framed to full dimensions of approx "35" x 42" (there is some wear to the frame). A JSA auction LOA will accompany, and please note that due to the size and/or weight, special shipping arrangements may be required.
Please note that while all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for damage to frames that occurs during shipping.
