Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
Stocked with HOF talent including young stars Gordie Howe and Terry Sawchuk along with NHL leading scorer Ted Lindsay, the Detroit Red Wings advanced to the Stanley Cup finals in 1950, and took on the New York Rangers in a hard-fought seven game series. Exchanging wins throughout the series, the Red Wings would win Game 7 in double overtime to hoist Lord Stanley's coveted trophy. This Detroit Olympia program was produced for Game 1 of the final, on April 11, 1950 (won by the red Wings 4-1). Featuring guru Jack Adams on the cover, the date is handwritten, with the interior line-up intact. The program remains in beautiful condition and is a high grade survivor, showing just a tiny bit of handling wear.
