Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
The last competitive event at the Olympics before the closing ceremony, the 2010 gold medal hockey match was a rematch of the 2002 final, with Canada famously defeating the US on Sidney Crosby’s exciting overtime winner. We have a framed display celebrating the iconic goal, signed by the man himself, Sidney Crosby. Featuring three inserted 8” x 10” photos including the golden goal and Team Canada team photo, Sidney has signed the central image, with the blue sharpie signature displaying with heavy fading from exposure to the sun. A name plaque has been added beneath, with holograms affixed to each photo. Framed to full dimensions of approx 17 ¾” x 35”, the frame itself remains in excellent condition and shows just very light wear from being displayed. The signed photo also sports a second hologram from Frameworth, with a matching COA to accompany. Additionally, also included with the Crosby display is a framed canvas image of John Tavares picturing him during his time with the Oshawa Generals that has been signed by him with a blue ink signature that also displays with some fading. Having been inscribed with “72 Goals” in matching ink underneath the autograph and displaying in matching condition, a Tavares hologram has been affixed to the bottom right of the piece alongside the serial number of “11/22”. Housed in a cherry wood coloured frame that remains in excellent condition and shows just light wear to the edges and corners, the piece measures out to full dimensions of 33” x 27” and comes with a matching COA.
Please note that while all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit.
