Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024

Going undrafted after completing his junior hockey career with the OMJHL's Oshawa Generals, Charlie Huddy would go on to play over 1000 games in the National Hockey League, suiting up for the Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, Buffalo Sabres and St. Louis Blues, helping the Oilers to five Stanley Cup championships. One of Edmonton's greatest blueline assets during their dynasty years and suiting up for Team Canada at the 1984 Canada Cup tournament, offered here is this Los Angeles Kings jersey donned by Huddy during the 1991-92 season, his first in the bright lights of Hollywood. Made by CCM, washed out/faded Maska Ultrafil and size "54" labels are affixed to the inner collar while both the CCM and NHL shield logos have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a Kings team crest that sports embroidered details throughout, the sleeves (customized to Huddy's liking with elastic cuffs at the end of both) and verso have been accented with Huddy's number "22" in sewn on tri layer tackle twill numerals. Having had "Huddy" spelt out in matching style letters that have been affixed directly to the material of the jersey at the top of the reverse, the NHL's 75th anniversary patch has been added over the right breast while the Kings' 25th anniversary crest is sewn on atop of the left shoulder. Retaining its fight strap on the interior and displaying heavy game-wear throughout including heavy amounts of staining over the front that could be blood, team repairs are present over the lower front and left shoulder areas while other battle scars exist in the form of stick marks, board burns, unrepaired cuts/holes and coloured board paint transfers while pilling graces the interior. Additionally, the image of Huddy seen on the backside of his 1991-92 Upper Deck card appears to show a match to the team repair under the front crest but is not close/clear enough to call a definitive photo-match.
