A standout in his native Sweden who played numerous seasons with Leksands IF before coming over to North America and the National Hockey League, Per-Olov Brasar would play a total of 348 games in the NHL from 1977 to 1982 with the likes of the Minnesota North Stars and Vancouver Canucks, helping the Canucks to an appearance in the 1982 Stanley Cup Finals during his final season in the league. Representing Sweden at five (5) IIHF World Championships and a Canada Cup (1976) during his career, offered here is this Canucks jersey worn by Brasar during his final NHL season of 1981-82. A mesh construction garment made by Sandow SK, a completely washed out brand label is affixed to the inner collar while "Sandow SK" has been screened on over the reverse hem in black letters. Measuring out to roughly a size "46" for its effort, the front, shoulders and sleeves of the jersey have been decorated with heavily screened on orange stripes, with the ones extending down from the shoulders forming the infamous "V" for Vancouver. Also sporting screened on Canucks "Flying Skate" team logos over both sleeves in matching style, the cuffs and verso have had Brasar's number "16" screened to the them in dual layer black-over-orange numerals while the original nameplate is no longer in place over the upper reverse (evidence of its former placement still exists over the upper reverse). Exhibiting excellent game-wear throughout its entirety, stick marks appear over the front, reverse and both sleeves while both sleeves also sport board burns and staining/discoloration from age and use near the cuffs. Having had a customized snap style fight strap sewn over the original loop style one on the interior, the interior also sports good pilling. Of note, the body of the jersey shows spot stains over both sides and light cracking is seen in the screened on elements which is worth mentioning for accuracy. Additionally, the jersey is easily able to be identified as being from the 1981-82 season based on the numbers being outlined in orange and the completely screened on elements.
