One of the most feared snipers in the National Hockey League at the height of his career, Tony Tanti's NHL spanned a total of 697 games over 11 years in which he potted a total of 287 goals. A product of the Oshawa Generals of the OHL who was originally drafted 12th overall by the Chicago Black Hawks in 1981, offered here is this photo-matched Canucks jersey worn by Tanti during the 1985-86 season. A CCM made offering with washed out and partially detached brand plus born-on tagging reading "85 04" affixed over the inner collar, a gigantic CCM logo patch has been added over the reverse hem. Decorated on the front with a Canucks "flying skate" team crest that features embroidered details throughout, the black Ultrafil material garment is decorated over the right breast with an Expo 86 event patch while a City of Vancouver 100th anniversary patch has been placed over the right sleeve. Having had Tanti's number "9" sewn to the sleeves and verso in dual layer yellow-over-orange stacked tackle twill numerals, "Tanti" is spelt out in matching style across the affixed matching nameplate across the top of the back. Exhibiting good game-wear, stick marks are observed over the front, reverse and both sleeves as are team repairs that total out to approximately twenty (20) by our count. Also showing multiple board burns over both sleeves as well as some darkening/discoloration from wear in the yellow portions at the elbows and hem, red coloured board paint transfer marks exist over the right sleeve/elbow as well. Showing pilling on the interior and heavy rusting to the snaps of the fight strap, it should also be noted that the nameplate was at one point removed and then reattached visually the same position it was once in. Regarding the aforementioned photo-match, the jersey is matched with Getty Image #1253571680 (December 6th, 1985 vs New Jersey) to the now washed out stick mark in the orange stripe of the left elbow, the damage at the right side top and bottom points of the "9" on the left sleeve, the darkening pattern/repair near the bottom of the yellow stripe over the left elbow and to the board burn through the elbow reinforcement stitching in the orange stripe of the left sleeve.
