Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2023
The man who would that season break Ty Cobb’s all-time hits record, Pete Rose, was fittingly featured on the top of Fleer baseball wax boxes in 1985, with an image of the 660-card set’s most important rookie card, that of Kirby Puckett, interestingly among the cards included on the side panels. That RC roster also includes Tony Gwynn, Ryne Sandberg and Fred Lynn, while Roger Clemens’ first-year cardboard over the years has always been a key element of the issue. High grade pack pulls are possible if pack-busting is your preference upon taking possession, with all (24) 28-card and 2 logo sticker “value” packs deemed unopened by the experts at BBCE, with the firm’s shrink wrap having sealed things up and their label affixed to the bottom. Sporting a lid display that has not been perforated, the lid, along with all four (4) sides of this survivor show signs of very light surface wear and areas of colour/image loss that are worth mentioning for accuracy while some creasing is seen along the front side and up on the lid. Additionally, the corners all the way around on both the top and bottom edges show light wear and dings as well. Lots of fun options are in store for you should you become the lucky winning bidder.
