Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
Spending his entire 22-year Major League Baseball career with the Detroit Tigers, Al Kaline would slug a total of 3,007 hits over that time while being selected to 18 MLB All-Star Games, winning ten (10) Gold Glove Awards and winning the American League batting crown in 1955. A World Series champ with the Tigers in 1968 who had his number “6” retired by the club in 1980, Kaline would be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame the same year. Up for grabs here, is this copy of Kaline’s 1959 Topps card that has been graded as an EX-NM 6 by the inspectors at SGC. Showing excellent centering with nice white borders all the way around, even corner wear and rounding is seen all the way around while bold vivid colours are exhibited over the front. Housed in an SGC holder that shows a handful of light scratches/scuffs over each side, don’t let your vintage “boys of summer” collection go without this very respectable mid-grade offering!
