Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
Winning four Stanley Cup championships throughout the latter half of the 1960s, the Montreal Canadiens were the first team to win a title after expansion. We offer a 1967-68 Canadiens gold base bobbing head doll. Much rarer than the earlier-produced dolls and measuring 7" in height with team decals over the chest and base, there is some chipping to the underside edge of the head along with a number of small hairline cracks. There is also some additional chipping to the right ear, and on the upper chest. The decals remain fully intact, with the doll displaying wonderfully overall. We should further note that these Montreal gold base dolls are ranked #10 on Joe Marasco's rarity list. This lot and many others in this auction hail from an advanced NHL and CFL nodder/bobbing head collection.
Addendum: Upon closer inspection with a blacklight, paint has been added to the right ear, uniform and back of the head.
