The 15th overall pick of the Boston Bruins at the 1979 NHL Entry Draft, Brad McCrimmon would enjoy a National Hockey League career that would suit up in 1,222 career games over 18-years between Boston, Philadelphia, Calgary, Detroit, Hartford and Phoenix. A Stanley Cup champion with the Flames in 1989 who finished his career with 1416 PIM’s and a +/- of 448, up for grabs here is this Calgary Flames jersey worn by McCrimmon during the 1989-90 season. Made by CCM, a Maska Air-Knit label is sewn to the interior collar with the handwritten size designation no longer present though the jersey measures out to a size “52”. Sporting the embroidered logos of CCM and the NHL shield over the reverse hem, the front of the jersey is decorated with the Flames’ flaming “C” team crest in tri-layer stacked satin twill while the sleeves and verso have has McCrimmon’s number “4” sewn to the in dual-layer red-over-yellow satin twill numerals. Showing game-use in the form of stick marks over the customized shortened sleeves and front of the jersey, a small blue board paint transfer is present over the lower front as well with a couple of team repairs observed over the middle of the jersey just above the hem on the reverse. Showing significant staining throughout especially across the shoulders and both cuffs, fabric snags are also seen as well as heavy pilling in numerous spots on the interior. Of note, the nameplate, Flames 10th anniversary patch and captain’s “C” have all been removed from the jersey though evidence of each can be spotted on either the exterior or interior of the garment. Additionally, McCrimmon has signed the reverse number “4” with a blue ink signature that displays without issue.
