Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
Affectionately known as “The Big M”, Frank Mahovlich would hoist Lord Stanley’s mug a total of six (6) times throughout his illustrious career and be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1981. Up for grabs here and a something sure to be in the crosshairs of all those looking to snipe high-grade vintage cards, is this copy of Mahovlich’s 1958-59 Parkhurst card. Showing the 1957 Calder Memorial Trophy winner over the front on the offensive, the card has earned PSA’s esteemed mark of NM-MT 8 after its inspection by the graders. With only 27 other examples of this card having been deemed worthy of a higher grade, the card shows sharp corners, near perfect centering, smooth edges, clean surfaces and gorgeous colours with everything about this 65-year-old specimen standing out to the beholder when held in hand. Housed in a PSA holder that shows light scratches/marks over both sides, don’t let your all-important vintage collection go without this sophomore year gem of one of hockey’s all-time greatest players!
