Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
A key cog in the wheel of Les Canadiens and the heart and soul of the franchise following the retirement of Maurice Richard in 1960, “Le Gros Bill”, Jean Beliveau would help the Montreal Canadiens to a total of 10 Stanley Cup championships during his career as player, adding seven (7) more in his managerial career afterwards. Another high-grade offering being made to the hobby from the collection of our consignor, offered here is this copy of Beliveau’s 1958-59 Parkhurst card that displays a grade of NM-MT 8 over its label. With only 10 other examples of this card having been deemed worthy of a higher grade, the card shows sharp corners, near perfect centering, smooth edges, clean surfaces and gorgeous colours with everything about this 65-year-old specimen standing out to the beholder when held in hand. Housed in a PSA holder that shows just a couple of light scratches over both sides, don’t let your all-important vintage collection go without this distinguished gem of one of hockey’s all-time greatest players!
