A key cog in the wheel of the famed United States National Team that won gold on home soil at the 1980 Olympic Winter Games after knocking off the powerhouse Soviet Union and Finland, Dave Christian would go on to an NHL career that spanned 1009 games and saw him register 773 points. Up for grabs here, is this Chicago Blackhawks jersey worn by Christian during his single season with the club in 1992-93. Made by CCM, washed out Maska Ultra-Fil and size “54” tags are affixed to the inner collar while the logos of CCM and the NHL shield have been embroidered over the rear hem. Decorated over the front with Chicago’s famous Indigenous head crest that features beautiful chain-stitched details, matching chain-stitched alternate logo tomahawk crests reside over each shoulder while the all-important Stanley Cup Centennial patch has been added over the right breast. Christian’s number “25” has been sewn to the sleeves and verso in dual-layer white-over-black tackle twill numerals while “Christian” has been spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. A second set specimen as evident by the lack of glue residue around the Centennial patch (the 1st set is referred to as “the glue set” for this reason), the jersey exhibits game-use via team repairs totalling ten (10) between the front and both sleeves while the same areas also show stick marks as well. Additional wear is observed via board burns to each sleeve and a stick mark over the reverse hem while stains not necessarily associated with game-use are found over both sleeves as well. Additionally, the jersey is video matched to the Penguins vs Blackhawks game on February 13th, 1993 to the stick mark over the reverse hem.
