Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/28/2023
Raising the art form of penalty killing to an exact science, Derek Sanderson was one of the NHL’s all-time premier practitioners of playing with a man short, with his prodigious face-off abilities and zealous checking forever frustrating the opposition. Hailing from the circa late-1960s, when Boston began the rise to stardom, we have Sanderson's Bruins' equipment bag. The size of a large duffel bag and in solid but faded black, the canvas equipment bag has "Boston Bruins" screened in gold on each side, with black Bruins logos at each end. "16" is also screened to each side, with all the graphics quite faded. The bag shows heavy wear with a ton of small team repairs throughout, guaranteeing use for a number of seasons. Acquired by longtime Bruins player, coach and general manager Milt Schmidt, a signed LOA will accompany from his son.
