Toronto's 8th round choice of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft at 151st overall, Derek Laxdal would go on to play 67 games over the course of his National Hockey League career with both the Maple Leafs and New York Islanders between 1984 and 1991. Having enjoyed a long coaching career that has produced both Kelly Cup (ECHL) and Ed Chynoweth Cup (WHL) championships as well as a Memorial Cup crown in 2014, offered here is this Maple Leafs jersey worn by Laxdal during the 1988-89 season, his last in the blue and white of Toronto. Made by CCM, a lone and partially washed out Maska Ultrafil label is affixed to the inner collar with the jersey measuring out to roughly a modern size "50" after quick check. Having had a tonal blue and white small block CCM logo embroidered into the reverse hem, the front of the garment is styled with a familiar Maple Leafs team crest that has had "Toronto Maple Leafs" embroidered into it while the shoulders have been accented with matching alternate logo crests in single layer blue tackle twill style. Featuring Laxdal's number "35" sewn to the sleeves and verso in single layer tackle twill numerals, "Laxdal" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Featuring the original fight strap and pilling on the interior of the jersey, the exterior displays game-wear in the form of sweat staining around the collar, light stick marks over the lower front and both sleeves and light board burns over both sleeves as well. Additionally, it is worth mentioning that some small fabric snags and spot stains are observed throughout the body and sleeves of the jersey including inside the front crest.
