Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
Known for his shot-blocking ability and hockey IQ, Olli Maata won back to back Stanley Cup championships with Pittsburgh in 2016 and 2017. From his second of two seasons in California, we have a photo-matched Los Angeles Kings jersey worn by the Finn during the first round of the 2021-22 Stanley Cup playoffs. The playoff garment sports “56” sizing on the Adidas collar band, with NHL and Adidas crests on the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with an embossed Kings team crest in tackle twill, “6” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “Maata” over the upper reverse in single black twill. Game-Wear is light, with a few dark marks from game-use over each sleeve along with a small burn mark beneath the left elbow. Getty Image #1240674099 (May 14, 2022) has been matched to the dark mark on the lower left sleeve. The team patch resides on the inside hem, with a hologram added to the fight strap from the Kings and a matching COA to accompany.
