Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
A product of the Michigan State University Spartans who helped the school to a National Championship during his freshman season of 1985-86, Brian McReynolds would be drafted 112th overall by the New York Rangers at the 1985 NHL Entry Draft and go on to play a total of 30 games in the National Hockey League, suiting up over that time with Winnipeg, New York and Los Angeles. Offered here, we present this Los Angeles Kings jersey worn by McReynolds during his twenty (20) game stint with the club in 1993-94. Made by CCM, both Maska Ultrafil and size "54" labels are affixed to the inner collar while the emblems of CCM and the NHL shield have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a Kings team crest that features embroidered details, the sleeves and verso have been styled with McReynolds' number "53" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals while "McReynolds" has been spelt out in single layer black twill letters that have been sewn directly to the material of the jersey at the top of the reverse. Retaining its fight strap on the interior as well as a Kings "93-94 Set 1" tag sewn inside the reverse hem that has been initialed by Kings equipment manager Peter Millar, the jersey shows game-wear via light stick marks throughout the body and sleeves as well as sweat staining around the cuffs and collar, a board burn over the left elbow and pilling on the interior. Of note, spot staining is found throughout that is worth noting for accuracy.
