A product of the WHL's Moose Jaw Warriors, spending his first season in Canada with the club, Pavel Kubina was drafted by Tampa Bay in 1996, and spent his first eight NHL seasons with the club until 2006, then returned for an additional pair of seasons in 2010. This Lightning jersey was worn by the Czech international in 2005-06, specifically during the second period of the October 5th match vs Carolina. The NHL and NHLPA stepped up to show they cared in the wake of the ravages wrought by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, with this special set of jerseys used to help raise funds. A label with “56” sizing is affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests over the bottom hem and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with a textured Lightning team crest with embroidered detailing, the black V-neck has been accented with “13” sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. The Katrine Cares patch resides over the right breast. Worn in a single contest, the jersey exhibits light use, with a bit of discolouration to the team crest. Cutting Edge Sports patch inside the rear hem reads “Tampa Bay Lightning Katrina Hurricane Relief Jersey”. The MeiGray patch numbered "C09032" sits inside the left rear hem, and according to the company's population report, the jersey is a "Black w/ Katrina Relief Patch - Worn in 2nd Period of Home Opener 10/5/05" specimen.
