Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
Presented annually by Canadian NHL teams to the player who accumulates the most Molson "Three Stars" selections throughout the season, this Molson Cup Trophy was presented to Montreal Canadiens star Mario Tremblay during his 30-goal season of 1982-83, the only time that Tremblay laid claim to the award during his career. Standing at 8” in height and featuring a silver bowl that has “Coupe Molson Cup” engraved on the front, three silver stars wrap around the front and back of the bowl as well. Mounted on a puck base that is then mounted on a metal plate and affixed to a wooden base that measures roughly 9 ½” x 9 ½”, a plaque reading “1982-83 Mario Tremblay” has been affixed to the front of the wooden base as well. Signed by Tremblay under the base in blue ink and showing well, oxidization and surface wear is observed to the bowl itself as well as a couple of small dents while scratches and wear are seen to both the metal base plate and front identifier plaque. The upper bowl is dented in an area near the rim which also caused a crack in that area. The wooden base also shows flaws in the form of scratches and wear to the edges and corners. Will come with a Classic Auctions LOA.
