Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
Currently the Director of Goalie Development for the Oakville Rangers of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association, Steve Mason was drafted by Columbus in 2006, and earned the Calder Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year in 2009. From his fourth of five seasons in Pennsylvania, we have a photo-matched Flyers jersey worn by Mason in 2015-16. "Goalie Style" tagging resides along the collar with "58" sizing, with embroidered NHL and Reebok patches on the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with the classic “P” Flyers team crest fully administered in tackle twill, the white V-neck has been accented with dual-colour sleeve and verso numbers, with “Mason” across the black nameplate in single white twill. There is also an “EMS” crest over the upper left sleeve, with this honouring Flyers’ founder and executive Ed Snider. Exhibiting nice game-wear with puck and stick marks to the front and sleeves, there is also red paint transfer in a few spots over the left sleeve. Getty Image #518298162 (March 21, 2016) has been matched to the dark mark on the front right shoulder, while Getty Image #521243384 (Game 1, Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, April 14, 2016) has been matched to the dark mark at the bottom center of the verso numbers, to the extended black threading just above the "A" of "MASON" on the nameplate, and to threading particularities within the "3" of "35" on the right sleeve. A MeiGray patch is sewn on the inside hem near the team patch, and according to the company's population report, the jersey is a "White Set 3 / Playoffs - Ed Snider Memorial Patch" specimen.
