Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
A first round draft choice of Montreal in 1987, Andrew Cassels played for six different NHL clubs throughout his career, and represented Canada at the World Championships in 1996. From his first full NHL season, we have a Canadiens jersey worn by Cassels in 1990-91 (Cassels first played just 6 games with Montreal in 1989-90). A Maska Ultrafil label is affixed to the collar, with the jersey measuring-out to a size 52, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with the iconic CH team crest constructed entirely of layered tackle twill, “15” appears sewn over the sleeves and verso in matching material along with “Cassels” across the affixed nameplate in single blue twill. The dual-clasp fight strap is intact. Sporting light to moderate game-use with a few marks and traces of red paint transfer to the sleeves, there is also pilling beneath the fight strap and to the interior sleeves. An LOA will accompany.
