The sixth edition of the NHL’s Heritage Classic, the March 13th, 2022 contest saw over 26,000 passionate fans brave the elements to witness the Buffalo Sabres score four (4) unanswered goals and defeat the Maple Leafs by a score of 5-2 at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario. Up for grabs here, is this Maple Leafs throwback style Toronto Arenas jersey worn during the second period of play by Leafs blueliner Justin Holl. Featuring an Adidas band that displays both “Made in Canada” and size “58” designations over the inner collar above a screened on Primegreen logo, crests of the NHL shield and Adidas are found over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated over the front with a large white felt material “T” that has been affixed with a vintage-style sewing pattern, “Arenas” is also spelt out in navy blue felt letters across the chest as the jersey blends the styles of sweaters worn by the club in 1917-18 and 1918-19. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Holl’s number “3” in matching white felt material that has again been sewn down with a vintage-eques sewing pattern, “Holl” is spelt out in single layer white felt letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Displaying the all-important 2022 Heritage Classic event patch that resides atop the right shoulder, the jersey, worn for just a single period of play displays no discernible game-wear. Marked over the fight strap with a handwritten black ink number “3” do denote it as being from the 3rd set worn that day, a Catstitch logo is heat pressed above and a Fanatics tag serial numbered “HC220246” is affixed inside the rear hem. A Leafs LOA will accompany the piece.
