The core of the New York Islanders defense that brought the club a quartet of Stanley Cup championships during the early-1980s, Denis Potvin spent his entire career on Long Island while also representing his nation at the Canada Cup and IIHF World Championships. A three-time James Norris winner as the NHL's premier defenseman, Potvin's first-year cardboard is one of a number of key rookie offerings to be featured in O-Pee-Chee’s 1974-75 hockey release, with this particular copy of card #195 having garnered a grade of NM-MT 8 after it’s inspection by the graders at PSA. Off-center bottom-to-top, the card retains attributes that one would expect of a high-grade vintage example, with the sharp corners, smooth edges, vivid colours and clean surfaces all still found in nearly the same state that they were when it was first pulled from its wax wrapper 49 years ago. Housed in a PSA holder that displays just light imperfections worth noting, don’t allow your esteemed vintage collection to go without this prime offering.
