Perhaps the most famous family in hockey, Gordie Howe and his two sons Mark and Marty, would combine to play a total of 4688 professional hockey contests between the regular season and playoffs in both the National Hockey League (NHL) and World Hockey Association (WHA). With two of the three (Gordie and Mark) having been inducted into the HHOF, offered here is this collection of 140+ cards of Gordie, Mark and Marty Howe. Coming in at approx. 144 cards in total with some duplicates also included, the eldest Howe is seen over his final NHL card from OPC’s 1979-80 release that is included and in the condition range of EX-MT to NM. Other notable cards of Gordie include WHA offerings starting with 1975-76 where Howe Sr. is seen over both his all-star and regular series releases in VG to VG-EX and VG-EX to EX condition vicinities respectively. Others picturing the hockey legend include card #50 (x2 – EX and EX-MT ranges) and #72 (All-Star – EX-MT range) from OPC’s 1976-77 WHA series and three (3) copies of Gordie’s card #1 from 1977-78 OPC WHA with all three (3) in the scope of EX-MT condition with one (1) showing a bit of gum wear on the front worth noting. Two copies of the 1975-76 card picturing the headshots of all three Howe’s together are also included and presenting in the condition ranges of EX-MT and VG respectively with the VG example having gum damage on the reverse. Noteworthy cards of both Marty (x2) and Mark (x4) hail from 1975-76 OPC WHA with the pair of Marty offerings both seen in the EX vicinity while two of Mark’s cards are also in mirroring EX proximity with the other two lower grade specimens closer to G to VG and VG to VG-EX range respectively.
