The current president of Russia’s top hockey league, the KHL and a two-time World Championship gold medalist, Alexei Morozov would enjoy an NHL career that lasted 451 games after the Pittsburgh Penguins made him their first round draft pick, 24th overall, in 1995. Offered here, is this Pens jersey worn by the Morozov during the 1999-2000 season. Made by Pro Player with both brand and size “54” tagging affixed to the inner collar, a mostly washed-out black ink “95” appears over the tag while the rear hem sports sewn in NHL and Pro Player logo crests. Decorated over the front with a textured “Robo Pen” Penguins team crest, the all-important “NHL2000” patch resides over the right breast. The sleeves and verso have been accented with Morozov’s number “95” in tri-layer tackle twill numerals while “Morozov” is spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate above the rear numbers. Exhibiting excellent game-use, stick marks are observed over the front, team crest and sleeves which also show numerous unrepaired holes and board burns. Additional wear is seen through board burns in the area of both shoulders and light pilling on the interior. Additionally, the jersey is photo-matched to Morozov’s 2000-01 Pacific hockey card by the black stick mark through the right side of the “9” on the left sleeve. A Penguins LOA and picture of the photo-match will accompany.
