Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/2/2023
Joining the Canadian military during the Great War in 1915, Harry "Punch" Broadbent earned the Military Medal for his heroic conduct overseas. The hockey HOFer would later serve his nation again during the Second World War, and we offer his Canadian Forces Certificate of Honour that originates from his personal collection. At 9" x 11", the historic document features Union Jack flag shields along with a gold seal, with "To Harry L. Broadbent M.M.", with the text to include "in proud recognition of your service given in the Canadian Forces during the Great World War September, 1939 - August, 1945". Dated "June 1946", both the mayor of Ottawa and the city clerk have signed. The frameable document sports a few creases over the upper right corner, with these the only condition concerns.
