Released during the first season of Montreal’s string of five straight Stanley Cup championships between 1955-56 and 1959-60, offered here is this collection of 1955-56 Montreal Canadiens Parkhurst hockey cards totalling seven (7). Starting with a quintet of PSA slabbed offerings, a card of Canadiens legend Babe Siebert leads the way having earned a NM-NT 8 designation and is joined in close proximity by another Habs all-time great in the form of Aurel Joliat, who’s card has been deemed worthy of an EX-MT+ 6.5 mark. Graded cards showing what was then current roster players total two in the form of a Gerry McNeil that has earned an EX-MT 6 and a “Hugh Beats Hodge” in action card that also displays the respectable just above mid-grade mark of EX-MT 6. Rounding out the graded cards is another Canadiens legend, this time in the form of immortal netminder Georges Vezina, who has been given a mark of VG-EX+ 4.5. The last two cards included come in the form of raw ungraded examples of #71 “Plante is Protected” which is found in the condition vicinity of G (good) due to a crease and surface/corner wear as well as a copy of card #73 “Richard Bests Lumley”, that is found to be closer to the range of G to VG while showcasing border and corner wear.
