Granted a franchise in the first round of NHL expansion in 1967, the City of Pittsburgh can lay claim to the fact that their beloved Penguins have won a total of five (5) Stanley Cups throughout their history and had numerous all-time greats suit up for them over the years. Offered here, is this collection of nine (9) Pittsburgh Penguins hockey cards from 2005-06 and 2006-07 featuring the likes of Lemieux, Staal and Talbot. Starting with the Lemieux offerings, totalling three (3), the trio includes a 2005-06 UD The Cup base card of “Mario the Magnificant” that is numbered “044/249” at the bottom left corner and displays in the condition vicinity of EX to EX-MT with some light surface, edge and corner wear. Following that up are two memorabilia cards featuring swatches of jersey once worn by the legend that have been embedded into them, hailing from 2005-06 UD Artifacts, with a single two colour swatch and serial numbered “069/275”, and 2006-07 UD Sweet Shot, showing three black coloured swatches and serial numbered “07/25” respectively with both cards in a similar condition range as the previously mentioned base offering and showing the same wear patterns. The bulk of the collection features cards that showcase Jordan Staal with his 2006-07 Upper Deck Series One “Young Guns” RC being present along with three rookie year release autograph cards including the likes of 2006-07 UD The Cup “NHL Enshrinements” that is serial numbered “44/50”, 2006-07 UD Ultimate Collection “Ultimate Signatures and 2006-07 UD Sweet Shot “Signature Shots” with all penned with fine blue ink on-card autographs that display without issue with the cards all in the condition scope of EX-MT to NM and showing just light corner and edge wear upon inspection. The last card is that of a 2005-06 Fleer Ultra rookie specimen of Max Talbot that appears in the condition range of EX-MT with the heaviest wear being at the top left corner.
