Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/2/2023
First appearing in packs of O-Pee-Chee’s 1986-87 hockey release, highly touted goalie prospect Patrick Roy was already a Stanley Cup champion when his coveted rookie cards were being released from the clutches of the wax wrappers that housed them and was well on his way to cementing himself as one of the greatest goalies the National Hockey League had ever seen. Up for grabs here, is this copy of “St. Patrick’s” coveted first-year cardboard that has earned the high-grade mark of MINT 9 from the graders at Beckett after its inspection. Displaying with clean surfaces, sharp corners, smooth edges, bold and vivid colours and precise centering, the subgrades at the bottom of the label include Centering 9, Corners 9, Edges 8.5 and Surface 9. Sure to pique the interest of all those chasing high-grade vintage and guaranteed to enhance the collection of our lucky winning bidder, it should be noted that the Beckett holder remains in excellent condition with only light scratches over both side and a small scuff on the front worth mentioning.
