Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/2/2023
Hockey’s first million-dollar man, Bobby Hull shocked the hockey world when he announced that he would be leaving the NHL to accept the offer from the Winnipeg Jets in 1972-73, which included a million-dollar signing bonus. This desirable signed stick saw action in the hands of The Golden Jet during the mid 1970s, circa 1975. A Northland Custom Pro model featuring his trademark large curve, “Hull” is stamped over the upper shaft and "9" is handwritten (faded), with a pattern number listed on the underside of the shaft of "1178". The original black tape is intact on the blade and over the shaved handle and knob, with Hull adding a modern signature to the upper shaft in ballpoint along with a personalization and "1975". The blade remains uncracked, with light wear to the taped section of blade and a few additional marks to the shaft from game-use.
