Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/28/2023
From the Parkhurst company's landmark and inaugural hockey card issue of 1951-52 that started the modern era, we have a rarely seen wrapper box that one housed cards that could have included the first-year cardboard of players like Howe, Richard and Sawchuk. The green variation, an image of Leafs captain Teeder Kennedy is seen on the top along with the original 5 cent purchase price and all six “Original Six” cities. Mostly intact except for a small portion of the fold over section on the left side, light surface wear is seen with “New York” on the top having been circled in pencil. A wonderful example, complete your all-important 1951-52 assembly with this seldom seen piece.
