A classic run of card sets featuring the men who helped write the seven-season history of the World Hockey Association is up for grabs here, led chronologically by a 66-card set from 1974-75 which is led numerically by “The Howes” card. Largely in a condition range of EX-MT with some EX and NM examples found as well, key cards include 1-The Howes (EX-MT), 4-Nilsson RC (EX – miscut OC), 17-Hedberg RC (EX), 40-Mahovlich (EX-MT/NM – 70/30 centering), 50-Hull (EX-MT/NM) 53-Checklist (EX – unmarked) and 64-Plante (EX-MT/NM). The toughest of the four sets, the ’75-76 (132-card) assembly once again consists mostly of EX-MT/NM specimens with EX and NM cards found as well with the RC of Mark Howe an exception in the range of VG/EX due to a corner ding and crease at the top right and bottom left. Key’s include 1-Hull (EX-MT – top left and bottom right tiny corner dings), 34-Plante (EX-MT/NM), 65-Hull AS (VG/VG-EX – small crease and a tiny bottom left corner ding), 66-Howe AS (EX-MT – slight corner wear), 100-Howe (EX-MT/NM – 80-20 centering), 110-Mahovlich (EX-MT – small surface print line) and 131-Checklist (EX/EX-MT – unmarked, top right corner ding). For the ’76-77 offerings, once again a 132-card effort with most in EX-MT/NM condition with EX and NM cards mixed in, the keys include the likes of 50-Howe (EX-NM – small top left corner ding), 65-Hull AS (EX-MT/NM) 72-Howe AS (EX-MT/NM), 100-Hull (EX-MT/NM), 111-Mahovlich (EX-MT – off-center and miscut on the reverse) and 117-Checklist (G/VG – unmarked but shows multiple small creases). Lastly, the ’77-78’s, typically sharp with that being the case here, the smaller 66-card ensemble is led by the familiar names of the other sets including 1-Howe (EX-MT/NM), 50-Hull (EX-MT/NM) 58-Checklist (EX-MT/NM – unmarked) and 61-Mahovlich (EX-MT/NM) with the accompanying cardboard in the same EX-MT/NM range throughout.
