Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/2/2023
Quickly approaching Wayne Gretzky’s all-time goal scoring record, it seems like only yesterday that Alex Ovechkin was taking the NHL by storm with 52 goals and 106 points in his rookie season of 2005-06 to win the Calder Memorial Trophy. Offered here, is this Alexander Ovechkin Washington Capitals rookie era jersey that has been signed by the Russian sniper. Made by CCM and remaining in new-with-tags condition with brand and size “L” tagging affixed to the inner collar, the front of the jersey is decorated with the Capitals capital building crest with screaming eagle alternate logo patches over each shoulder. Accented with Ovi’s number “8” in layered tackle twill that have been sewn to the sleeves and verso with “Ovechkin” spelt out across the black twill nameplate in matching style across the top of the back, Ovechkin has signed the reverse number with a bold black ink signature that displays without issue. A hologram from Sportauthentix is affixed alongside the autograph and is accompanied by a matching COA.
