Another collection of cards displaying players who battled for CFL supremacy during the early and mid-1960s is up for grabs here through these complete 1960 and 1961 Topps CFL sets. Starting with the 1960 set, the group of 88-cards remains in a fairly consistent condition range of VG to VG-EX range with about 10 of the cards showing noticeable creases while corner wear is a common flaw seen on all. Starting with the RC of Stampeders QB Joe Kapp that is seen in the vicinity of VG condition (corner wear), many of the key cards are found in the same scope including 13-Getty (light crease bottom right), 15-Kruger/Checklist (unmarked + corner wear), 17-Parker (small crease at the bottom left corner), 46-Patterson (bottom right corner crease), 45-Livingstone/Checklist (unmarked), 63-Jackson (bottom right corner crease) and 76-Shatto (top right corner crease). Other keys to mention include those of 33-Faloney and 42-Etcheverry in VG-EX range while the 2nd year card of Angelo Mosca (#38) is observed as being closer to VG-EX to EX condition.
For the 1961 set, this time consisting of a larger 132-card checklist, the group is found in an overall condition range of EX after inspection with 5 or 6 cards showing a crease and about half having had the backs been rubbed with a coin to “Make-a-Photo”. Featuring a quartet of rookies in the list of key cards, those of Willie Flemming, George Dixon (top right corner crease) and Ron Lancaster (crease) are found in the range of EX condition while the first year card of Ron Stewart (off-center top-to-bottom) is a bit better off, being in the vicinity of EX. Other keys to note include the specimens of 33-Coffey and 76-Jackson are in the best overall condition in the scope of EX to EX-MT while 47-Faloney and 56-Patterson are found in range of EX. Card 39-Parker is seen around VG-EX to EX with examples of 1-Bailey and 20-Kapp are both in the vicinity of VG-EX. The checklist card, #102 in the set is around EX and remains unmarked while displaying 90-10 centering.
Additionally, a group of forty-six (46) cards from the Topps 1965 CFL set are also present, found in a fairly uniform condition range of EX to EX-MT with some EX-MT to NM, the group is highlighted by cards of 12-Kapp and 64-Dixon in the range of EX-MT+ while card #110 of Jack Parker is found in the vicinity of EX-MT to NM with slight wax residue.
