One of the oldest rugby/football clubs in North America, the Hamilton Tigers were formed in 1869, and played in the Ontario Rugby Football Union from 1883 to 1906 and in the Interprovincial Rugby Football Union from 1907 to 1947. A founding member of the ORFU, the Tigers won five Grey Cup Championships and two Dominion Championships, including the 1908 title, the year before the Grey Cup was first awarded. We have an original cabinet photo of the Tigers from the circa late-1890s. At approx 10 1/2" x 14" and affixed to a slightly larger mount, the full-format photo shows the entire club in striped sweaters with bowler hat-wearing manager and a player holding a melon style football. The image is clean with minor age toning, with a small piece of the paper over the mount over the lower center missing. Set in a vintage frame to full dimensions of 15 1/2" x 19", this is one of the earlier football photos we have ever offered.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for damage to frames that occurs during shipping.
