Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/28/2023
Possibly used by the iconic legend in an oldtimers capacity as the tape job matches the model he used in his final professional days with the Vancouver Millionaires in the early-1920s, we have a high quality Hespeler Professional model stick from approx the early-1940s signed by Fred "Cyclone" Taylor. Stamped with the model on both sides of the shaft along with the position "Centre" and uniform number "7" to the upper shaft - a sign that the stick was produced specifically for someone - the original tape remains over the blade and handle, with Cyclone signing the mid shaft in pencil with his full "Fred W (Cyclone) Taylor" autograph, with some minor loss/fading to the signature. The stick shows considerable use, with a large crack beneath the blade tape. We should also note that this stick was originally purchased out of Vancouver. From the Brent Sobie antique hockey and baseball collection.
*** Please note that the image of the 1960 Topps Taylor card is NOT included in the lot, the card is just shown to illustrate the matching tape job.
