Vastly popular in the cities where their exploits wowed fans, the two legends in our title lead this small stack of 1955 Topps representatives that total ninety-six (96). A VG to VG-EX condition lot on average that features almost a 50/50 split on light backs versus dark backs, the group includes many doubles and triples of some of the included offerings and a majority of the cards display centering issues while about five (5) or six (6) cards are classified as being lower grade offerings. For the notables, card #50 of Jackie Robinson is seen as being in the scope of G condition with a small amount of tape residue seen over both sides while card #31 of Warren Spahn is closer to VG-EX to EX and shows a ding at the bottom left corner. For the rest of the notables, a copy of card #1 picturing Dusty Rhodes leads the way in the vicinity of EX while examples of cards #5 and #26 featuring Jim Gilliam and Dick Groat are found to be VG-EX to EX with wear to the bottom right corner. Two copies of Johnny Podres cardboard are found to both be in the range of G to VG. Finishing out the notables, an example of card #100 featuring Monte Irvin is found in the condition proximity of G due to a crease. Additionally, three other cards are featured including a 1950 Bowman #229 of Frankie Frisch (G to VG – small crease), a 1951 Bowman #11 of Ralph Kiner (VG-EX to EX – gum or wax stain on the reverse) and a 1952 Topps #129 of Johnny Mize (PR to FR – multiple creases plus corner wear). Cards included more than ounce in the lot include those of; 7-Hegan (2), 8-Smith (2), 16-Sievers (2), 23-Parks (3), 24-Newhouser (2), 25-Podres (2), 34-Terwilliger (3), 35-Jolly (2), 41-Stobbs (2), 48-Kennedy (2), 57-O'Dell (3), 58-Rivera (2), 60-Stone (2), 63-Collins (2), 64-Triandos (3), 70-Rosen (3), 78-Jones (2), 80-Grim (2), 84-Pascual (2) and 109-Lopat (3).
