Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/28/2023
Still one of the biggest names in the hobby even 24 years after his retirement from the National Hockey League, Wayne Gretzky remains the only player in the league’s history to register a 200-point season, doing it four times during the 1980’s with the Edmonton Oilers. Offered here, pictured on the front in his New York Rangers uniform and looking for an offensive opportunity, is this 2009-10 Upper Deck UD Game Patch card of “The Great One”. Originally pulled from a pack of that year’s Upper Deck Series One release, the card is serial numbered “08/15” at the bottom right corner with a beautiful red and blue twill patch swatch from one of Wayne’s game worn jerseys embedded above. In excellent condition with light wear touches to three of the four corners on the front and to a lesser extent on the reverse, a small ding is observed at the top right corner on the front side. Small surface imperfections are seen over both sides as well while the edges largely remain in excellent condition.
