The second oldest of the Staal brothers to play in the NHL, Marc was selected 12th overall by the New York Rangers in 2005. Playing his junior hockey relatively close to home in Sudbury, where he recently had his number retired by the organization, offered here is Sudbury Wolves captain’s jersey worn by Marc Staal during his last OHL season of 2006-07. Made by Reebok with brand and CHL labeling affixed to the inner collar along with a size “58” fly tag, crest for Reebok and the CHL adorn the reverse neckline and hem respectively. Decorated over the front with the Wolves crest that features partially embroidered details with “Sudbury” and “Wolves” in single layer white twill letters on either side of it, the distinguished captain’s “C” is found over the left breast below an additional Reebok crest while the all-important 2007 Memorial Cup patch has been added over the right side below an OHL league patch. Of note, the Wolves did not play in the 2007 Memorial Cup tournament but the patches were added to their jerseys for the OHL Finals against the Plymouth Whalers. The sleeves and verso have been accented with Staal’s number “14” in dual layer tackle twill numerals with “M. Staal” spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the back in single layer white twill letters. Exhibiting good game-wear throughout, numerous stick marks are observed over the sleeves, front and reverse while board burns are present over both sleeves as well. On the reverse, a deep blue colored board burn is found over the hem as well as a small unrepaired cut alongside it. A COA from the Wolves will accompany the piece.
