Known as “The Human Eclipse” for his size and ability to set screens on goaltenders, Chris Kreider starting casting his shadow around New York City during the 2012 NHL Playoffs after being drafted 19th overall by the Rangers in 2009. Offered here, is this New York Rangers jersey worn by Kreider during the 2014-15 season. Made by Reebok, a size “58” flag tag is affixed to the collar, with a Rangers barcode affixed above along with a Steiner Sports hologram while NHL and Reebok crests reside over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with “Rangers” placed diagonally across the chest in blue-over-red drop-shadow tackle twill, Kreider’s number “20” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “Kreider” across the affixed arching nameplate. A Set 1 specimen, the jersey shows light-to-moderate but good game-use. unrepaired holes/cuts are seen over both sleeves, one on each, while dark stick marks are found over the front, sides, reverse and both sleeves of the piece. A patched repair is found near the back of the left armpit along with blue stains in the same area. Of note, dirt/dust marks and a small orange stain are found near the bottom hem and left cuff and are not associated with game use. Additionally, the jersey is photo-matched with Getty Image #458938470 (November 8th, 2014 vs Toronto) to the unrepaired hole at the right elbow and stick marks near the left cuff. A Steiner LOA will accompany the piece.
