Drafted 20th overall in 2008 by the Blueshirts, at age 19, Michael Del Zotto, became the youngest defenceman in New York Rangers history to play in an Opening Night contest. Scoring his first NHL goal the next night against the Ottawa Senators in the Rangers home opener at Madison Square Garden. Offered here, is the jersey Del Zotto was wearing to record his 1st NHL goal and point on October 3rd, 2009 against the Ottawa Senators. Made by Reebok, a single size “56” flag tag is affixed to the collar, while NHL and Reebok crests reside over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with “Rangers” placed diagonally across the chest in red-over-white drop-shadow tackle twill, Del Zotto’s number “4” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “Del Zotto” across the affixed arching nameplate. A set 1 offering, the jersey shows good game-use throughout with board burns and stick marks over both shoulders and sleeves as well as a team repair near the left cuff and a red board paint transfer mark over the rear hem. Light pilling is seen on the interior of the jersey at the elbows. A MeiGray patch numbered “G04010” is sewn to the interior reverse hem with the company’s population report listing the jersey as a “Blue Set 1” specimen. A matching Rangers/MeiGray LOA will accompany the piece.
