One of the winningest goaltenders of the modern era, Henrik Lundqvist has secured more victories than any other European netminder in history and was extremely popular with fans in Manhattan. Lundqvist would earn the Vezina in 2012 while also being nominated for the coveted Hart Memorial Trophy the same year. Offered here, is this collection of equipment worn by the Swedish born netminder during the 2017-18 season including at the 2018 NHL Winter Classic on January 1st, 2018 at Citi Field in New York against the Buffalo Sabres. Additionally, everything has been photo-matched to the outdoor spectacle! A matching trio of Bauer Supreme 2S Pro model equipment in the Rangers red, white and blue that also displays graphics of the Statue of Liberty and New York City skyline, Hank’s personal crown logo and “Lundqvist” is embroidered into each piece. Displaying excellent game-use through countless puck marks throughout each piece, the inside pointer finger on the blocker is coated in a sticky substance while the palm remains hole free. All three pieces of equipment show fraying in areas while the glove has a cracked palm that has been patched in the pocket and the pads also shows a couple small skate cuts with the one on the left pad having been covered leather patch repair over the front. Extensive red colour bleed is seen on all three pieces. Regarding the aforementioned photo-matches, Getty Images #900579098, #900279322, #900344206 and #900327582 (January 1st, 2018 vs Buffalo) have all been matched to various puck marks and wear patterns seen on the pads, glove and blocker. Of note, the bridge decal applied to the upper portion of the pads and blocker was removed after the game was completed. Originally, Hank was to wear a different set of pads for the game and had been breaking them in during practices leading up to the event but overall felt that they weren't quite ready and to his liking therefore switching back to his main set and had Rangers trainer Cass Marques put the bridge and logo design on the top part to add a level of uniqueness for the event as reported on Twitter by New York Post sports reporter, Justin Tasch, on December 31st, the day before the game. All three pieces have Steiner Sports holograms affixed to them and are accompanied by matching LOA’s.
