An intriguing Gordie Howe collection here spans three decades and involves multiple grading companies, along with some raw representatives. Leading chronologically is Gordie’s 1952-53 second-year Parkie, with “6 ENM” appearing on the label of the KSA holder, the latter with multiple scratches/scuffs and a diagonal crack in the KSA logo area. Also assessed (generously) by KSA is the (at the time) perennial scoring champion’s ’54-55 Parkie, with card #41 earning a mark of 7 NM despite obvious wear at all four corners. Two others from the same decade, ’53-54 Parkhurst and ’59-60 Topps, are in Beckett “BCCG” holders with “7 Very Good or Better” on the labels. A couple of small light creases render the Parkie VG+ at best, while the EX-in-appearance Topps example is lowered by paper loss on a back corner. Beckett’s BVG department is responsible for the verdicts received by ’65-66 Topps #108 (4.5 VG-EX+) and ’69-70 O-Pee-Chee Mr. Hockey (NNO)(6 EX-MT). In decades-old PSA holders are ‘68-69 Topps #29 (NM 7) and ’71-72 Topps #70 (NM-MT 8). The raw portion completes and is as follows: ’67-68 Topps 131-All-Star (VG+), ’68-69 OPC 203-All-Star (VG), ’69-70 Topps #61 (EX-MT characteristics but off-centered with multiple vertical red print lines) and finally, ’70-71 OPC 238-All-Star (VG+). Yes, multiple options are to consider.
